The Courtauld Institute required flexible conference space and academic work stations constructed within a Grade 2 listed building with ornate ceilings and cornices.
Nicholas Hare Architects had a conceptual design for independent partitions and with BWDL developed a dry lining solution that enabled the walls and integral glass fins to be installed without damaging the existing fabric. Purpose built structural steel posts were designed and these were incorporated within the wall structures to stabilize the walls and minimize deflection.
This was a difficult and sensitive project, undertaken with great skill and within an occupied environment.
